US Customs Bond / OTI Licensed

Atlas Line in compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency

Atlas Line is in full compliance with the US customs bond procedures and has the required bonding with the US customs as a foreign NVOCC. Only OTI licensed American companies are permitted to handle Atlas Line house bills of lading in their ports. Failing to follow this procedure will result in illegal import/export of your shipment and will result in high penalties.

For international carriers it is needed when you transport cargo via vessel from a foreign destination to the United States to obtain a Customs bond through a surety licensed company by the Treasury Department of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency. The bond is covering all ports of entry.

OTI Licensed companies

The Atlas Line agent will make use of the services of an FMC Licensed ocean transportation intermediary (OTI licensed) based in the USA.  When the Atlas Line agent is carrying an OTI license themselves there is no requirement to consign the cargo to any 3th party.

The OTI number of the subject OTI licensed forwarder of logistic operator must be checked prior to signing and releasing of the Atlas  Bill of lading for US shipments.
